Ms. Elma
Supervisor Kindergarten
I am a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher with 15 years of teaching experience, including 4 years home-schooling and 20 years teaching Sunday School children aged 3 to 5 years. I love teaching children aged 3 to 6 years, with a special interest in supporting children with varied learning needs. I strongly believe, as Albert Einstein said, that “everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid” I design my curriculum to recognize, support, and celebrate the unique abilities of each learner. By creating a warm, safe, and supportive environment, I help children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually, laying a strong foundation for their future learning.
My educational philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that children learn best through play and meaningful interaction. As Fred Donaldson says, “Children learn as they play; most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.”. This principle guides me to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that emphasize presence, personal engagement, and genuine connection. Through these interactions, I nurture curiosity, confidence, and independence, with the goal of instilling a lifelong love for learning in every child. My classroom reflects a balance of care, creativity, and professional excellence.
I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Kenyatta University and a Certificate in Medical Laboratory from Mombasa Polytechnic. This combination of qualifications allows me to blend educational excellence with a strong focus on health and well-being. Additionally, I am a Certified First Aider with St. John Ambulance, ensuring a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where parents can feel confident in their child’s overall care and development.
